what i learned this week? not everything that tastes good also looks good.
frying pan week was crazy. a little bit of the good kind of crazy, but mostly the sucky kind. a very full schedule, gioia’s departure to london (…dreary times ahead) and not much time to think about what to cook. or actual cooking, for that matter. this week, i needed simple. simple, but delicious nonetheless. that’s where crêpes came into play.
to keep things from being too simple, i decided to add beetroot. beetroot is one of the best things ever invented, in my humble opinion. they taste good both raw and cooked, roasted and mashed. and that color? soooo pretty! (can you feel the love? (i sure can)) anyway, back to the crêpes. for the filling i cut some camembert into thin slices, added a few arugula leaves and sprinkled a teeny bit of salt on top. bon appétit!
