are you chicken or what?
firstly, happy belated valentine’s day to y’all. for all of those who haven’t been told it yet: i love you. secondly, i have great news for the lazy readers amongst you: i barely have anything to say. to be fair, though, if you truly were a lazy reader, chances are you wouldn’t even have made it this far. chicken week it was. (totally trying to fill some space with words). during the whole week i asked pretty much every person who crossed my path what their favourite chicken dish was. didn’t go down too well with busy bus drivers and cashiers. but ultimately, as i tend to, i just decided to go with my own idea. so i ended up making a trilogy of chicken fillets (speaking of trilogies: as i was cooking, the building’s contractor came over to fix my water boiler and we ended up discussing the movie adaptation of “fifty shades of grey” without me even having seen it. poor paul went to see it with his girlfriend on valentine’s day and was less than impressed). the telicious (i couldn’t think of a positive adjective starting with t) trio consisted of chicken in bread crumbs with lemon zest and fresh herbs alongside a yogurt and crème fraîche dip, sesame-encrusted chicken with a sweet chili sauce and finally a cornflaked (totally a verb) chicken with some cocktail sauce.
