one of my favorite movie scenes ever is this one from the movie ‘chocolat’. apart from the brilliant music and my general love for the movie, vianne getting ready to open her ‘chocolaterie mayan’ gets to me every time. that and the party preparation scene…oh the things one can do with chocolate! it was a bit overwhelming, i thought, there being lots of chocolate related things i want to try someday. nevertheless, i ended up making a decision (kind of inevitable in this project of ours), choosing a recipe for “curry and peanut leaves”. sounded weird enough to me and thus spiked my interest.
in addition to the curry and peanut combination, i also made a version with candied rose leaves and cocoa nibs and another with pistachios and dried cranberries. i quite like how they turned out, they make for a pretty bunch of leaves, no?
